Description
Babe Ruth was thirteen and playing sandlot ball in Baltimore. Lou Gehrig was five year old. Helen Dauvray and Monty Ward were yesterday's news, long since divorced. Honus Wagner was the pride of the Pittsburgh Pirates across town, the greatest player in the game. A rare April 6, 1908 program for the one act play Casey at the Bat at the Harry Williams Academy, Pittsburgh. This isn't De Wolf Hopper's recitation of Ernest Thayer’s poem but rather an actual one act play adapted from the famous poem. De Wolf Hopper appears as a character in the play. as do Casey and Rosey Clancey, Captain of Female Baseball Nine. Dimensions twelve and a quarter by nine and a quarter inches, too large for the scanner. Small tears, chipping to right margin of last page, and light fold else good. Buyer pays Priority Mail insured shipping. Reduced postage for buyers of multiple items. I will E-mail the winning bidder within twenty four hours of the end of the auction. If you have not received an E-mail by that time, please check your spam filter. Credit cards accepted with Paypal. Inquiries always welcome.
