' Description Up for auction is a life size replica of the mysterious Cylon Imperious Leader form the classic television series, Battlestar Galactica. This not a casting from a mold, making this a one of a kind piece! The head was hand carved out of upholstery foam and coated in latex then painted with purple paint. The "hair", or "halo" as it was referred to, is a removable solid latex matte with black paint. Both the head and the halo were coated with an interference blue automotive pigment before sealing, which creates shimmering lighting effects when you move around them. The eyes are clear plastic hemispheres painted on the interior with a metallic green paint. The cape is made of a red velvet material with burgundy vinyl leatherette scales applied around the collar and neckline. This was originally intended to be used as a Halloween or con costume, but the halo proved to be too heavy to be worn after it was finished. That being said, I do NOT recommend you try to use this for a costume! Regardless, it would still make an awesome display for a Battlestar Galactica collector. Modeled after screen shots of the original and references from the Mattel action figure, this display lies somewhere in between the two. The head may be 10 to 20% larger than the original 1:1 scale head, but main difference between this and the original is the halo. The screen used halo was a hard resin or wire mesh which rested on the shoulders of the actor and hovered over the head, where the halo on this replica is a soft, flexible rubber that sits directly on the head, much like the action figure.This auction is for the head and cape only!  The display mannequin and the bust mount are not included with this auction   the pictures below show the head mounted on a life casting of an adult male for a scale reference. below are screen captures of the original prop.  and below is what was left of the original that recently sold at auction for $5000!  Bidding: Serious bidders only, please.
