Description
From the estate of Lois Nettleton comes this terrific drawing from husband Jean Shepherd. So much detail! Circa 1960. Dimension of the drawing: 11" x 14". It is in very good condition. No tears, no rips. Some handling. A bit of fading. It is unsigned. For those of you who are familiar with his life, Mr. Shepherd liked to draw. As written in a 1962 article in the NY Post: "While Jean Shepherd talks - an activity at which he's a virtuoso - he draws pictures of a well-worn chair, a stylized Coke bottle, a Village pad, a typewriter. 'Artists miss the point of spending time on people's faces,' mused the radio-TV humorist and raconteur the other day. 'Faces haven't changed in years! A telephone reflects 20th century man much more than his face does.' Shepherd clutches a German-made pen with a tip like a hypodermic needle and draws in a quavery, skeletal style. " Buyer pays by money order or PAY PAL plus $8 to ship by Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation shipped in a tube to avoid folding. Insurance is extra and would be paid by the high bidder. They will also receive a letter from the executor of the estate stating that these items are from the estate. Please check out the other auctions from the estate of Lois Nettleton.
